MORE than 400 driving offences have been detected in the last four months by Somerville Highway Patrol officers. The offences occurred across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. Highway Patrol members caught 176 drink and 61 drug drivers, and charged 125 drivers with speeding. Among those arrested recently was a 45-year-old Frankston North man. Police pulled him over on Skye Road in Frankston at around midday on 21 June for a breath test. THE search has begun to find Frankston’s best volunteer. Nominations for the 2022 Frankston City Volunteer Awards have opened. The annual awards are hosted by Impact Volunteering. A NEW cafe in the infamous Frankston Yacht Club building is now serving customers. Oliver’s Corner opened for business last week. The cafe occupies the bottom floor of the Yacht Club building. Frankston Council announced that it had leased out the bottom floor to the owners of Oliver’s Corner in late 2020. It is currently seeking a tenant for the top floor of the building, and is in the process of assessing expression of interest applications. REBECCA Maitland was looking forward to a dream trip to Europe in 2016 when a stroke changed her life. Maitland’s dog Nala helped her regain consciousness by licking her face. The Frankston resident then managed to use her phone’s voice activation to call an ambulance.
