A FRANKSTON artist is getting ready for the opening of her first public exhibition. Brodie Alserda’s Through Her Eyes opens this week. Her work will be displayed at the Mezzanine Gallery in the Frankston Arts Centre foyer. Alserda has been diagnosed with autism, schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She currently resides at Haven Frankston. THE Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre has cleared its waitlist for lessons after a difficult start to the year. The aquatic centre was impacted by a shortage of swim teachers, which has affected swimming programs nationally. Peninsula Leisure started a recruitment initiative earlier this year which has helped PARC staff catch up. The Swim Teacher Active Recruitment Program covered the costs of swim teaching qualifications and offered payment to prospective teachers for in-water training hours. A DOCUMENTARY about the serial killer who murdered three young women around Frankston is set to premiere next month. Revealed: No Mercy, No Remorse will air on streaming service Stan. Documentary filmmaker Terry Carlyon and veteran crime reporter John Silvester developed the project. 18-year-old Elizabeth Stevens, 22-year-old Deborah Fream, and 17-year-old Natalie Russell were all murdered by the same killer around Frankston in 1993. FRANKSTON mayor Nathan Conroy has taken part in a challenge to raise awareness about homelessess, going without a bed for a night and living on $10 for the day.
