Officers from Cheltenham are appealing for witnesses following a crash in Edithvale last night.

Police received a number of reports of a Toyota Camry being driven erratically in the vicinity of the Aspendale Railway Station around 11pm.

Members patrolled the area and found the car in Lochiel Drive, Edithvale a short time later.

Investigators believe that the car had been involved in a number of crashes before they located it and the driver.

The male driver, a 23-year-old from Springvale, was taken back to the station for a breath test and returned a result of 0.176%.

He is expected to be charged on summons for a number of traffic offences.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the Camry driving in the area prior to any of the crashes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
