A 15-year-old teen has been remanded in custody following a head on collision in Mordialloc early Monday.

The collision occurred on Governor Road, near the intersection of Spray Street when it appears the teen, driving an allegedly stolen BMW east, crashed into a Ford sedan travelling west, just after 7.30am.

A 47-year-old Carrum Downs woman, driving the Ford, was taken to The Alfred hospital and is currently believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

The boy was arrested by police at a fast food outlet in Chelsea Heights after allegedly leaving the scene, shortly after the crash, and was taken to Dandenong Hospital for treatment.

He was charged by Frankston Embona investigators yesterday with reckless conduct placing a person in danger of death, reckless conduct placing a person in danger of serious injury, manner dangerous and other traffic matters.

He has also been charged with aggravated burglary and a number of thefts of motor car charges.

The Patterson Lakes boy has been remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Major Collision Investigation Group detectives attended the scene of the crash today and are assisting Frankston Embona with the investigation.
