A CAR being driven along Cranbourne Rd was pelted with a stubby by one of a group of 10 as it turned into James St, 11.50pm, Saturday 3 September.
When the 64-year-old driver stopped to confront the thrower, three youths allegedly attacked him, with one hopping into the driver’s seat and stealing the car’s keys before running away and another jumping on the roof.
Also in the car were a 51-year-old woman and 21-year-old man, all from Scoresby.
Police later arrested a 14-year-old from Somers, 16-year-old from Cranbourne and 18-year-old from Frankston North. They were charged with affray, assault, robbery, attempted theft of a motor car and criminal damage.
The 16-year-old has been bailed to appear at a children’s court this month and the others are expected to be charged on summons.
The incident, in which the police Air Wing was called, was captured by CCTV cameras on a nearby business.
Senior Sergeant Glenn Michie, of Frankston police, said motorists should consider their own safety before entering dangerous situations.
