Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 68-year-old man Roman Wiacek.

Roman was last seen at his home address in Yass Court, Patterson Lakes about 6.30pm last night.

Investigators have been told that Roman set off for a 20 minute bike ride but did not return.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has only been in the country for six weeks and speaks little English.

Roman is described as 175cm tall with a thin build and grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and grey t-shirt.

Police have also released an image of Roman in the hope that someone may recognise him and provide information on his current whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Roman is urged to contact Chelsea Police Station on 8773 3255.
