Detectives from Frankston Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance to help to identify two women following thefts in Frankston earlier this month.

Investigators have been told a handbag was stolen from the women’s change room at an aquatic centre on Cranbourne Road at 9.50am on 16 June.

CCTV captured the women leaving the centre and getting into a silver Honda sedan being driven by an accomplice.

The offenders drove around the car park until they located the victim’s light blue 2012 Volkswagen sedan, registration ZDD 273.

The female offenders used a key from the stolen handbag to steal the VW sedan which has not been located.

Police located the Honda, believed to be stolen, in Melton on Creek Street on 18 June.

The Honda contained some of the victim’s personal items.

Detectives have released images and CCTV of two women who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

An image has also been released of a vehicle similar to the outstanding stolen VW.

Anyone with information or who may recognise the women is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
