THE Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority wants the community to have a say on the planned Frankston Hospital redevelopment.
Work on the $562 million redevelopment, promised by the state government in 2018, was set to start this year and finish around 2024.
The VHHSBA is looking for input, collected via a survey, to see what the community would like included or fixed during the redevelopment.
VHHSBA CEO Rob Fiske said “we are seeking feedback from the local community on what healthcare services they use, how they could be improved and what new services they’d like to see offered at Frankston Hospital.”
The survey covers topics such as travel to and from the hospital, additional services, and services/activities in and around the hospital.
Already included in the revamp is expanded mental health services, a maternity ward, an obstetrics ward, a women’s clinic, a pediatric ward, an oncology ward, and a special care nursery.
The planned 11 storey building would create room for 120 new beds, two operating theatres, and 13 emergency department beds.
“The redevelopment will support Frankston Hospital to provide modern services and facilities to care for an ageing and growing local community for generations to come,” Mr Fiske said.
The survey is now open, and will be available until 7 September. It can be accessed at engage.vic.gov.au/frankston-hospital-redevelopment
