KINGSTON Council is considering funding mental health workshops to help people deal with the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
At their 14 December meeting, councillors voted to receive a report in March “addressing the feasibility of establishing a series of community-based mental health workshops, which would be implemented as part of a trial and form a part of Kingston’s Covid recovery.”
The report will also “consider creating a grant application process, enabling sporting clubs and registered community organisations to access funding for workshops, which would be provided strictly by qualified mental health professionals at suitable venues.”
