A driver has been arrested after a fatal crash in Mentone Sunday 15 August that has left one person deceased.

It’s believed the vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux ute laden with furniture, was seen driving erratically on the Nepean Highway before driving into a shopping centre loading dock just after 5pm.

The vehicle struck two pedestrians and stopped at the scene.

One of the pedestrians, a yet to be formally identified male, died at the scene.

The other pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.

The male driver was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
