Drugs, cash, guns and explosives seized in Seaford

Detectives from the Southern Metro Division 4 Response Unit have today arrested two people after a search warrant was executed at an address in Seaford.

The search warrant was conducted at the East Road address around 9am after a long investigation into drug trafficking and explosives.

Police seized a large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, a large sum of cash, two firearms as well as other weapons, Cannabis and a small quantity of explosives.

A 29-year-old Seaford man has been charged with trafficking a drug of dependence, possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possessing proceeds of crime as well as further firearm offences.

He is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.

A 28-year-old Seaford woman has been released without charge pending further enquiries

A 37-year-old Seaford man who was in the house at the time of the warrant, was released and is expected to be charged on summons with weapons offences to attend the Frankston Magistrates’ court at a later date.

A 32-year-old Seaford woman, who was also at the house when the warrant was executed, received a cannabis caution.
