A MAN who allegedly ran a red light and crashed into two cars in Parkdale has been arrested.

Police allege that a 28-year-old man from Springvale drove his silver BMW into a parked car on Reid Street just after 7.20am, 8 January. Around 20 minutes later he allegedly ran a red light then hit a car at the intersection of Boundary and Lower Dandenong roads.

Police allege that the man fled the scene on foot. He was arrested in Braeside that morning.

The arrested man is in hospital under police guard, expected to be charged soon. Nobody else was injured in the alleged incident.

In a media statement, police have said that their search of the man’s car resulted in the discovery of drugs and cash.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or log onto www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
