Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after a vehicle with a baby on-board was stolen from Keysborough yesterday.

The 46-year-old has been charged with kidnapping, theft of motor vehicle, commit indictable offence whilst on bail and unlicensed driving.

The Frankston man has been remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

The charges follow the reported theft of a 2013 Toyota Rav4, which contained an 11-month-old baby boy, from Putt Grove on Tuesday 1 March about 2.10pm.

Thankfully the unharmed baby was reunited with his family following a call from a member of the public. The baby and stolen vehicle were located in Cranbourne around 5.40pm.

Police would like to thank the community and the media for their assistance.
