ATHLETES from Mentone Athletic Club had a good showing at a state level competition this month.
Athletics Victoria’s cross country relays were held at Jells Park. Multiple Olympians were among the 1000 people who competed on the day.
Mentone Athletic Club’s younger runners stole the show. Seth O’Donnell, aged 20, ran a time of 17:55 in the hilly 6.2km course. He finished just behind Olympians Jack Rayner and Stewart McSweyn. Mentone’s Michael Kernahan was not far behind, posting a time of 18:30.
The Mentone under-20 boys, under-14 girls, and 50-plus women won bronze medals in their team events.
