CARERS are coming together for free walking events.

Pathway to Carers is a program run across Victoria which connects carers of people with disabilities, mental illness, or the elderly. The monthly walk launched in Mordialloc last week.

In addition to the walk, carers are also offered information on services and support they can access.

There are currently around 20 Pathways for Carers Victoria groups so far, and project manager Michelle Willoughby hopes more will be formed as word spreads among carers.

“Pathways for Carers is for unpaid carers of a loved one who is an elderly person, has a disability, or mental health issue,” she said.

“We understand that caring for a loved one can be an isolating and difficult path to navigate.

“Our carer support groups provide participants with an opportunity to socialise and connect with nature as well as learn more about news, services, and support available to them.”

To learn more about the walks and get involved, visit pathwaysforcarers.com.au or email Melissa Venter at Melissa.Venter@kingston.vic.gov.au.
