THE design of the new planned aquatic centre in Mordialloc will be shaped by a series of polls.
The polls are now open, and will close on 31 May. The topics of the polls are travel, changerooms, water play, fitness facilities, the café, and barriers to visiting.
The pool is expected to be built near Jack Grut Reserve at a cost of $79.2 million. The federal government has committed $20 million to it, and Kingston Council will borrow more than $55 million to complete it.
Kingston mayor Hadi Saab said the polls will “allow people to focus on a particular area of interest or contribute across each of the key areas.”
“Being such an important project for the long-term health and wellbeing of our community, we want as many people as possible to provide input,” he said.
Councillor Tim Cochrane said “we are really looking forward to welcoming a whole new group of people to our new state of the art centre in beautiful Mordialloc, and we want to hear from everyone, including people who traditionally don’t participate in community feedback, as most Kingston residents will use the facility over its lifetime.”
