Officers from Carrum Downs Uniform are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a collision in Frankston last month.

Investigators have been told a red Honda CBR650 motorcycle was seen speeding in the Frankston area about 5pm on the 27th.

It is alleged the Honda was seen travelling from Mornington along the Moorooduc Highway, Peninsula Link and Cranbourne Road and reached speeds in excess of 220km/h.

As the bike travelled along Cranbourne Road it is also alleged that the rider narrowly missed a woman who was crossing the road near Ballam Park.

The bike continued on for a short distance and collided with a silver Ford station wagon near Wattletree Lane.

The rider, a 21-year-old man from Sommerville, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Ford, a 51-year-old man from Metung, also suffered injures and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who saw the motorcycle prior to the crash.

They are also keen to speak to the woman who was nearly hit by the bike as she crossed the road.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
