POLICE are looking into a fire which broke out at a Nepean Highway building in Frankston.

Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called out to the blaze on the corner of Nepean Highway and Beach Street at 12.47am on 24 January. They arrived four minutes later and began extinguishing the fire.

Nearby residents were evacuated while firefighters fought the blaze. Firefighters managed to contain the fire to the top level of a two-storey industrial building. and eventually declared it under control a little after 2.15am.

The scene was handed over to Victoria Police for investigation soon afterwards.
