THE Nepean Special School has received nearly $500,000 for upgrade works.
Existing brick paving at the school will be replaced with concrete to improve accessibility. The $499,446 for the project was allocated through the federal government’s “schools upgrade fund” grant program.
Dunkley MP Jodie Belyea said that “upgrading pathways to improve accessibility for students is a particularly important project for Nepean Special School.” “The Australian government’s schools upgrade fund is making a real difference to schools, teachers and students in my electorate of Dunkley and across Victoria,” she said. “Whether it is funding to build new classrooms, or replacing paving, everyone wins when local schools get more support so teachers and students can enjoy better facilities.”
Federal education minister Jason Clare said the project is “another important step in building a better and fairer education system.” “I want all students to get access to a quality education, including access to quality facilities to learn in and play on,” he said.
