AN investigation into a car allegedly stolen near Carrum Railway Station has led to the discovery of guns and weapon parts, police say. The car was allegedly stolen from Carrum on 17 July. The next day, around 12.15am, police spotted the Subaru Impreza in the carpark of a fast-food restaurant at the corner of Wellington Road and Dandenong Road in Clayton.
After police moved in, the car allegedly fled. The police helicopter followed the car to Notting Hill, where a man allegedly dumped something in a shed. Police attended the property and arrested two men. They allege they found a 3D printer, which was in the process of printing a firearms telescope, at the house. They also say a modified shotgun was found in the backyard shed.
A 39-year-old Notting Hill man and 30-year-old Dandenong man were arrested and interviewed. Anyone with information that could assist police can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
