Cars set alight

MULTIPLE cars were found alight in Mentone and Laverton last week in what police believe are linked incidents.

A car was found alight at the intersection of Nepean Highway and Swanston Street in Mentone at around 3.20am on 30 July. Around 20 minutes later emergency services were called to multiple car fires on Triholm Avenue in Laverton.

Police believe the incidents are linked. They say a person was seen fleeing the second incident while partially on fire.
