Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three people after a car was allegedly stolen and a 3D printed firearm was located in Frankston this morning.
It is alleged understood three people were loitering in a carpark near a grey Hyundai i30 with alleged cloned plates about 1.15am.
Officers were told they got into a white Renault Koleos and drove along the Nepean Highway.
Police located the Koleos a short time later parked outside a hotel.
A man and a woman got back into the vehicle before Operation Trinity officers intercepted it.
The Koleos was searched and the keys to the Hyundai i30 were allegedly found inside.
The two occupants were arrested at the scene.
Police then searched a hotel room and allegedly located a 3D printed firearm, methamphetamine, 1-4-butanediol and MDMA.
Another man was arrested.
The 33-year-old Safety Beach man was charged with prohibited person possess firearm, person subject to firearm prohibition order possess firearm, traffick a drug of dependence, theft of a motor vehicle and possess controlled weapon.
He will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court today.
The 22-year-old Frankston man was charged with prohibited person possess firearm, traffick a drug of dependence, theft of a motor vehicle, deal property proceeds of crime and contravene conduct condition of bail.
He will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court today.
The 25-year-old Frankston woman was released pending enquiries.
