A woman has had her car impounded and licence suspended after rendezvousing with the Somerville Highway Patrol in Frankston last night.

Two highway patrol units were parked on the side of Frankston – Flinders Road when a woman pulled in behind them just before 11pm.

Police asked the woman whether she was okay and needed assistance and she said she was fine.

The Frankston woman remained in her car behind the police so the officers decided to perform a breath test.

She returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.236.

The 40-year-old’s licence was immediately suspended and her car impounded at a cost of $1042.40.

Operation Roadwise will run from 14 December to 6 January, and will focus on enforcement and improving driver behaviour.

Police will be out in force to target the five leading causes of death and serious injury on our roads – speed, impairment, distraction, not wearing seatbelts and fatigue.
