WORKSHOPS will take place this weekend to help bring a new sculpture on the Bay Trail to life.
There are plans to install a rainbow sculpture with a series of individual 3-meter-high galvanised steel posts along the path.
Artist Deb McNaughton, who painted the Rainbow of Hope mural at Shirley Burke theatre this year, is working on the sculpture.
Kingston mayor Steve Staikos said the workshops are a “great opportunity for the local community to get involved in an exciting new public art project.”
“The Bay Trail is a fantastic new pedestrian and recreational cycling path and we have loved seeing the community out there enjoying it, this new sculpture will add a real point of interest for visitors to our beautiful foreshore and we can’t wait to see the artwork installed,” he said.
