FRANKSTON police executing a drug warrant in Seaford last week came across a haul bigger than expected.

Senior Constable Annabel MacEwan, of the Tasking Unit, said that while searching for amphetamines at a house in Kananook Av police found a stolen car, two trailers with number plates stolen from other trailers, and tools valued at $10,000. The tools had been stolen in five different burglaries on the peninsula.

“This enabled police to link the offenders to a number of other incidents, including service station drive-offs”, Senior Constable MacEwan said.

A 28-year-old female and a 48-year-old man, both of Seaford, were charged with possessing a drug of dependence, theft of a motor vehicle, theft of trailers, burglaries over a three-month period and handling stolen goods.

They have been bailed to appear at Frankston Court at a date to be fixed.

“It was a really good outcome,” Senior Constable MacEwan said.

“We were able to call several tradesmen and ask if they had been victims of burglaries and tell them we might have their tools.” Many of the recovered tools were uninsured, she said.
