Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following the theft of $100,000 worth of stolen property inside shipping containers across Greater Dandenong.

It is understood three containers were taken from a reserve on Box Street in Dandenong containing stolen property and memorabilia of a cricket club, a football club and a local council on 9 October.

Police recovered a dumped container with some of the property from the cricket and football club in Grantsville on 27 October.

On 9 November, investigators executed a search warrant at an address in Langwarrin South and located further stolen goods.

Additionally, two other containers were located, with one believed to contain council lawn maintenance equipment stolen from an address in Cranbourne on 5 November.

These items have since been returned to their rightful owners.

A 22-year-old Langwarrin South man has been charged with ten counts of theft and three counts of handle stolen goods.

He has been bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court 28 March 2024.

Investigations remain ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
