Frankston detectives make multiple arrests for spate of burglaries

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested 14 people this month following an ongoing investigation into burglaries and aggravated burglaries in the Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford areas.

Detectives this morning swooped on a Nepean Highway, Seaford address about 7.40am where they arrested a 31-year-old man.

The Seaford man is expected to be charged later today in relation to a series of offences and resisting police at the time of his arrest.

Detectives later executed search warrants in Monze Drive, Langwarrin and Kyrie Court, Carrum Downs about 8.20am.

A 43-year-old Langwarrin man was arrested at the Langwarrin address and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

A large number of exhibits were seized at the Carrum Downs address including:

  • an imitation sawn-off shot gun
  • an imitation AK47 machine gun
  • 2 x imitation handguns
  • drugs of dependence
  • registration plates and
  • assorted stolen property.

Since the commencement of the operation on December 3, the following arrests have been made:

  • A 39-year-old Frankston man who has been charged and bailed for handling stolen goods and negligently dealing with proceeds of crime.
  • A 38-year-old Frankston man has been charged and bailed in relation to possessing a drug of dependence.
  • A 16-year-old Cranbourne North man has been cautioned in relation to possessing cannabis and possessing a prohibited weapon.
  • An 18-year-old Crib Point man has been released pending summons in relation to possessing a controlled weapon.
  • A 36-year-old Seaford woman has been charged and remanded for trafficking a drug of dependence, possessing a drug of dependence, handling stolen goods and negligently dealing with proceeds of crime.
  • A 59-year-old Seaford woman has been charged and bailed in relation to possessing a drug of dependence.
  • A 42-year-old Frankston woman has been charged with burglary.
  • A 37-year-old Edenhope man has been charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage.
  • A 28-year-old Seaford man has been charged and remanded in custody for reckless conduct, negligently dealing proceeds of crime and driving in a manner dangerous.
  • A 25-year-old Seaford woman has been charged and bailed for burglary, theft of motor vehicle, handling stolen goods and resisting arrest.
  • A 49-year-old Frankston woman has been released pending summons for burglary and
  • A 33-year-old Seaford woman has been charged and bailed for negligently dealing with proceeds of crime.

As part of this operation, approximately $190 000 worth of property has been recovered at various locations.
