Police arrested 25 people during highly visible operation targeting drugs and anti-social behaviour at Frankston Railway Station on Wednesday.
More than 50 police and PSOs – supported by the Mounted Branch, Public Order Response Team and local police – saturated the railway station, bus interchanges and shopping centre precinct to deter crime and boost safety.
A passive alert detection dog was also deployed to sniff out those illegally carrying or dealing illicit drugs.
Police spoke with more than 270 people during the operation and executed 15 outstanding warrants.
A total of 25 people were arrested including:
• A 29-year-old Carrum man who was allegedly carrying methylamphetamine, a box cutter and an allegedly stolen passport.
• A 37-year-old Pakenham man who had two outstanding warrants and two unserved court orders. He was also allegedly carrying cannabis.
• A 33-year-old Somerville man who was wanted for assault-related offences. He also had several outstanding warrants for theft and make threats to kill.
Authorised officers also detected more than 140 transport offences.
Police will have a continued focus on Frankston Railway Station and the surrounding shopping district, with a number of proactive operations planned in coming months.
Operation Frost ran for one day on Wednesday 18 June.
