A MAN was arrested in Carrum after allegedly being found by police with an imitation handgun wrapped in a black balaclava hidden under his car’s front seat. He later told police he used the items to play “cops and robbers” with his young son.
Chelsea uniform police had earlier approached a car in the Stephens St car park, 4.30am, Saturday (30 January), with five men inside.
The man, 32, allowed police to search the car and admitted to owning the silver coloured cap gun and balaclava with red skull print.
He was arrested and taken to Chelsea Police Station where he was charged and bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court in May.
