THE heritage-listed Norman Lodge gatehouse on Nepean Highway, Mount Eliza, has commenced the process of being dismantled, before being rebuilt metres away from its original site. The dismantling comes a year after a demolition order for the gatehouse was issued by Mornington Peninsula Shire after a structural engineer’s report identified it as having suffered “total loss of structural integrity”.The protected gatehouse has been the subject of planning applications in 2013 and 2020 that would have seen the structure deconstructed and moved just metres away to be reconstructed on a concrete slab footing. A FRANKSTON teenager has been charged over an alleged home invasion which left a man in hospital with serious injuries.Police allege that five offenders broke into a home on Oxford Street in Kew East at around 4am on 17 August. One of the occupants, a 39-year-old man, was allegedly stabbed multiple times and was later taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.A 34-year-old woman at the house was treated for minor injuries. The spate of burglaries and thefts occurred between 3 and 23 August. Alleged offences occurred in Dandenong South, Clayton, Cranbourne, Braeside, Somerville, Bentleigh, Noble Park, Moorabbin, Cheltenham, Sandringham, Narre Warren, Pakenham, Clyde, Sky Officer and Frankston. A CHARITY has received a $40,000 grant to expand school-based paediatric clinics in Frankston.The grant was awarded to Menzies: Caring For Kids by Frankston Council.
