ARTIST Ian Hay has won the 2024 Rick Amor Drawing Award. The awards are presented annually by the McClelland Gallery in Langwarrin. The winning piece will now be submitted into its collection. MORDIALLOC Life Saving Club came away from the 2024 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships as big winners.The 2024 edition of the competition was held on the Sunshine Coast between 13 April and 21 April. The Mordialloc Life Saving Club attended, and came home with two gold medals, two silvers, and four bronzes.Mordialloc LSC’s Samantha Barrow won gold in the 45-49 beach flags and silver in the 45-49 female beach sprint. A woman has been charged following a ram-raid and ramming of a police vehicle in Carrum Downs. It is alleged two offenders in a stolen black Toyota Landcruiser forced entry to a business on the corner of Aster Avenue and Latham’s Road about on May 1 at 6.15am. Police arrived on scene and the offenders were still there loading items into the trailer. Officers parked in front of the Landcruiser, with the offenders then allegedly ramming the police vehicle multiple times. CHANGES to parenting arrangements made through the legal system are set to come into effect next month.From 6 May, reforms to family law will begin to be applied in the courts. Among the changes are a greater focus on child safety and the abolition of the presumption of equal shared parental responsibility.
