WEAPONS and drugs were seized from a Carrum Downs address last month, police say. Police attended a property on Lats Road in Carrum Downs on 24 November as part of a search for a 45-year-old man subject to a firearm prohibition order. Police arrested the man at the address sometime after midday. They allegedly found seven gel blasters, a crossbow, knuckle dusters, ammunition, and drugs during their search. The man, and a 41-year-old woman, were both charged and bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 10 January next year. First published in the Frankston Times – 5 December 2023

A DONATION drive will help to make Christmas a day to remember for people in Frankston doing it tough. Christmas Giving Trees have been set up across Frankston for people to leave unwrapped toys and non-perishable foods under. THE new $4.5 million home for Carrum Surf Life Saving Club has been officially opened. The facility was built with $2.1 million in state government money and $2.4 million from Kingston Council ratepayers. The new clubhouse features expanded ground floor storage capacity, more change rooms, a first-floor observation deck, additional office and dry storage space, and other improvements. THE Bonbeach Baseball Club played its first match under lights last week. Last year Kingston Council committed $125,000 towards the construction of new lighting at the baseball club. At the inaugural nighttime game under the new lights, Bonbeach White went down to Bonbeach Blue 22-3. KINGSTON Council has drafted a plan to create a more accessible area for people living with disabilities. Council’s four-year “all-abilities action plan” outlines 31 actions which can be taken to create better outcomes for people with disabilities. They include increasing the number of people with disabilities employed by council, the establishment of a disability access and inclusion consultative forum, a focus on universal design principles in all infrastructure projects, and work with local businesses.
