THE Frankston Historical Society has prepared a curriculum package to help local students learn about Frankston’s rich history. Frankston Historical Society president Glenda Viner said the project was a “great initiative”. “It’s important for students to have a deeper understanding of Frankston’s remarkable history,” she said. DURING a pandemic that changed life as we know it, people involved with the local Meals on Wheels program kept on working hard. Some things have changed, with contactless delivery and other COVID safety measures introduced, but staff and volunteers have continued to deliver hot meals to residents. The Meals on Wheels service delivers an average of 5,500 meals per month, which includes 1500 per month to charity Community Support Frankston. THE first stage of the Karingal Hub Shopping Centre expansion is nearly complete. The revamped fresh food precinct area will open this month, complete with a Coles, Aldi and a Woolworths. A Pacific Asian Supermarket, Bakers Delight, Ausea Seafood, Lindens Fresh Meats and Poultry Plus, Roll’d, Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse, Walkers Doughnuts, and Matchbox will also open. A STRIKING display of a Frankston pianist performing is on show at the Frankston Arts Centre. Andrew Farrell first started playing on a pianola gifted to him by his grandparents. He went on to study classical piano, and has been performing ever since. A shot of Mr Farrell playing has been included in the Life is Music photo exhibition at the Frankston Arts Centre. Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a man following a series of car thefts in Seaford yesterday morning. Officers were called to a Seaford business about 5.10am after it was reported three cars had been stolen. Police located the first car abandoned in Carrum Downs and the second in Roden Court, Dandenong. The third car was sighted by members of the public who performed a citizen’s arrest on the male passenger, before police arrived shortly after.
