POLICE are investigating the theft of jewellery in Cheltenham. The theft took place on 15 November, 2020. An image of a man, above, police wish to speak to about the theft has been released. TWO Patterson Lakes residents have been hit with drug charges after they were allegedly found with methylamphetamine and GHB. Police pulled over a car on Legana Court, Patterson Lakes, last week. In a statement police said they found “a significant amount of methylamphetamine and GHB as well as a prohibited weapon.” Two people, a 34-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were charged with drug related offences, and were bailed to appear at the Moorabbin Magistrates Court. BICYCLE thefts are on the rise. Last month a TREK brand bicycle, pictured above, was stolen from the front yard of a Bonbeach home. The offender had to jump a fence and cut locks to steal the bike on 19 January. A statement on the Kingston police eyewatch Facebook page read “Bayside suburbs in Kingston are experiencing an increase in the theft of bicycles from homes and public spaces. In most instances, bikes have been secured with locks. Police are aware that many of these bikes are being painted and resold via online sites such as Gumtree, Marketplace and eBay.”…

APPLICATIONS for Kingston Council’s 2021 grant programs have opened. The Annual Grants program offers up to $10,000 for not-for-profit community groups and organisations. Up to $5000 is available through the Arts Grants program, while groups that organise activities for Children’s Week in October can apply for up to $1,000 through the Children’s Week Grant.
