A LANGWARRIN metal fabricator won the top prize at a national event last month. Tyler Abbott works for TIB Welding. He won the gold medal at the WorldSkills Australia 2023 National Championships. Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men and two teenagers in Carrum Downs after they allegedly evaded police in a stolen car. The quartet were arrested after the car crashed into a light pole at the intersection of O’Grady’s Road and Lyrebird Drive in Carrum Downs about 10am (Monday 4 September). MORE tasers will be handed out to police statewide soon. The rollout of more tasers begins in November and will run until September 2026. The drawing of the taser will activate a police body camera. THE Frankston Ladies Choir has received a grant to buy recording equipment. The choir has been entertaining audiences since 1976. They often perform at aged care facilities, and are a regular fixture at local citizenship ceremonies. The $4200 grant was handed out through the federal government’s “stronger communities” grant program.
