CONSTRUCTION has finished on the Frankston line at Glen Huntly, with scaffolding removed last week. The new station building (pictured) uses 30,000 bricks. The project included a new tram stop, and improved connections and safety features. The state government is planning to remove every level crossing on the Frankston rail line by 2029. A LANGWARRIN metal fabricator won the top prize at a national event last month. Tyler Abbott works for TIB Welding. He won the gold medal at the WorldSkills Australia 2023 National Championships. The event was held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre between 17 and 19 August. Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men and two teenagers in Carrum Downs after they allegedly evaded police in a stolen car. The quartet were arrested after the car crashed into a light pole at the intersection of O’Grady’s Road and Lyrebird Drive in Carrum Downs about 10am (Monday 4 September). MORE tasers will be handed out to police statewide soon. The rollout of more tasers begins in November and will run until September 2026. The drawing of the taser will activate a police body camera.
