CRIME author Garry Disher will speak at Chelsea Library on 17 May about his prolific writing career. The author has won many awards throughout his career. He has been recognised at the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Awards and been long-listed for the prestigious International Dublin Literary Award. He will speak at Chelsea Library about his latest novels, Kill Shot and Her. Disher will be speaking from 2pm until 3pm. Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing woman Penelope Deans. The 72-year-old is believed to have left a care facilitly on Towerhill Road, Frankston about 3.10pm this afternoon. Police and family members hold concerns for Penelope’s welfare due to her age and as she has dementia, and other health conditions, that require medication. AUTHOR Christian White will be speaking at Frankston Library on 22 May, telling all about the experience of writing his novel The Nowhere Child. White said that the book had been over a decade in the making, and that the path to get it published was not an easy one. A FUNDRAISING drive at The Gateway in Langwarrin to help raise money for breast cancer has raised over $7000. Inspired by breast cancer survivor, Sally Bell, who works at Mckays Quality Meats at the centre, the complex turned pink between 29 April and 5 May.
