WORKS to remove level crossings at Carrum Station are underway, with the project set to temporarily wipe out parking at the station. During February the station car park will be partially closed, before being closed entirely from March 9 until the completion of construction. The station itself will be closed after the construction of a temporary rail track between Karrum Karrum Bridge and Eel Race Road. A LOCAL act has been confirmed to rock the upcoming Mordialloc Festival, with the Tanya George Band set to take the stage. Lead singer Tanya George lived on Beach Road for two years, while bass player Swithin Oliver grew up in Mordialloc. The band has had a big year already, having performed at the Australian open and the Midsumma Festival.
