Police have arrested a 25-year-old Wodonga man in relation to an incident in Mentone yesterday. It is alleged a female was assaulted and a 10-month-old child was taken from a Mentone address about midday. A pursuit was initiated across a number of south eastern suburbs before it was terminated for safety reasons. The man was arrested at a service station on Hume Highway near Donnybrook about 6pm by members of the Special Operations Group. The baby was located and did not require any medical treatment. KINGSTON Council is appealing for members of the community to come forward and provide feedback for how they would like to see the Mordialloc Freeway project delivered. Earlier this year the $375 million project was announced as a “nine-kilometre freeway that will link the Mornington Peninsula Freeway at Springvale Road in Aspendale Gardens to the Dingley Bypass in Dingley Village.” Two contractors were being considered in May, with an announcement on the successful bidder to be made by the end of the year. ARTWORK from the Kingston for Human Rights children’s art competition are set to be displayed at Shirley Burke Gallery from 7 December until 27 January. School children were asked to put their hands up and take to the canvas to create pieces that reflected the theme for the year, respect and trust.
