ORANGE ribbons will soon be popping up all around Frankston in support of ending violence against women and children. The municipality will soon be “ribbon bombed” as part of a “16 days of activism” campaign through until December 10. The ribbons are handmade by local organisation Zonta Melbourne South East. Police are appealing for information following a theft from a Cheltenham jeweller last week. It is believed the man entered a jeweller at the Nepean Highway shopping complex shortly before 2pm on 20 November. While a staff member was distracted, the man lifted a glass panel and took six gold chain necklaces before leaving the store. Investigators have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries. Kingston police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a burglar who broke into a Mordialloc business this month. The man used a metal bar to break into the premises on Lower Dandenong Rd about 3.30am on Monday 19 November. He rifled through the till before leaving. He had previously tried to break into the same premises without success on 17 November. Police have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries. POLICE are investigating the death of a woman who was involved in a car collision on 12 October. The women had caught a taxi from her home in Chelsea to go to a residence on Brighton. Police have been told the taxi was travelling westbound along the Nepean Highway when a red sedan exited a service lane and crossed all lanes of traffic to perform a U-turn.
