FRANKSTON Hospital could be set to receive a major facelift, after the state Labor government promised $562 million for its ongoing development should the party be re-elected in November. Plans for the hospital include a new 11-storey building housing 120 new hospital beds, two operating theatres, and 13 emergency department beds. School children have been left without a teepee following a fire at a Seaford school earlier this month. Emergency services were called to a fire at the school on Klauer Street about 10pm on Monday 3 September. It is believed a number of unknown youths entered the school grounds and set fire to a teepee in the playground area. The tee pee, valued at $12,000, was completely destroyed and no other buildings were damaged. A CAR without number plates pulled over near Skye Road, Frankston, 1am, Monday 3 September, was found to be unregistered. The 55-year-old female driver, of Karingal, was also unlicensed and a drug test allegedly tested her positive to methyl amphetamine. The woman will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court at a later date on multiple road traffic charges. After she made a call to arrange a lift home a 49-year-old man, also of Karingal, drove up. RAM raiders caused extensive damage to cabinets at a Seaford milk bar but missed out on stealing cigarettes, 4.50am, Saturday 1 September. They were also unsuccessful in trying to break into the Austin Road shop from the rear. An earlier raid at the TSG smokes shop at Karingal, in which possibly the same offenders tried to drive a car through roller shutters, was also thwarted.
