A CAR sped off after knocking down a 68-year-old man in Mornington, 10.42am, Wednesday 18 July. The man, who has Alzheimer’s disease, was walking along Wilsons Road when struck by the car which then sped off. Police said a witness heard the thud and then heard the car accelerate away. Police have interviewed two men following an assault in Frankston on Thursday night. Investigators have been told a 43-year-old Frankston North man was allegedly assaulted by a man, who was in the company of two other men, on the Nepean Highway about 7.45pm on 26 July. Two men attended at the Frankston Crime Investigation Unit this morning and were questioned by detectives regarding the alleged assault. A FRANKSTON man, 31, has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Clayton South last month. It is alleged a man fired into the fence of a Westall Road building site at about 3.30pm on Thursday 21 June. The man was arrested without incident during a planned arrest at a property in McMahons Road, Frankston on Friday 20 July with the help of the Special Operations Group and Fugitive Task Force.
