A NEW automated parking system for Frankston Arts Centre and Frankston Library visitors will ease some of the squeeze on car parking in central Frankston. Tabitha Cauchy, a swim teacher at the Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre (PARC), won the 2018 Swim Teacher of the Year award at the Aquatic and Recreation Victoria (ARV) awards. Falls Creek police are warning snow-goers to be prepared before heading to the slopes this weekend. It comes after emergency services were called to a car stuck in icy depths on Bogong High Plains Road about 10am this morning. Police were told the driver was on his way to Mt McKay at Falls Creek and had driven his Toyota SUV from bitumen onto the snow and past road closure signs. THE CFA wants to make sure residents do not “power a house fire” through appliances overheating or being damaged. COMPASSION is one of the four values at Bangholme’s Cornish College, and compassion is what warmed hearts last Friday evening as more than 60 students, alumni and staff braved the cold temperatures to sleep outside for Cornish College’s Winter Sleepout. Their dedication to the cause raised $23,000 in support of Australians experiencing homelessness, a record for the annual school event. All funds are donated to the charity Backpack Bed for Homeless who support people unable to find shelter.
