Six trees at the land owner’s premises on Hillcrest Road were chopped down without a permit resulting in fines of $6000 plus payment of council’s legal fees after council took legal action. A MORNINGTON man was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, travelling at a dangerous speed and failing to stop when directed to do so by police after his Holden utility was clocked at 210kph on Peninsula Link, Frankston, 1.30am, Wednesday 28 March. Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad are continuing to appeal for public assistance after a man was badly injured in a car fire in Frankston in 2016. Emergency services were called to a vehicle alight on Wynden Ave about 2.40am on 27 December, 2016. The vehicle, a white Holden Commodore sedan, was set alight while a man was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car. KINGSTON youngsters can run for a Junior Council thanks to a partnership between the Chelsea Rotary Club and Kingston Council. The mayor Cr Steve Staikos said the Junior Council will be an extension of the highly successful Junior Mayor program which gives local grade six students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and learn about local democracy. “Instead of just one student participating, the Junior Council will give nine young people a great opportunity to learn and grow,” Cr Staikos said. APRIL is the month to register pets so Kingston Council is reminding all pet owners to renew pet registration by Tuesday 10 April.
