WESTBOUND lanes on Hall Road between McCormicks Road and Western Port Highway have reopened after major upgrade works. YOUNG Mentone and Mordialloc life savers had a great showing at the Victorian Junior Pool Lifesaving Championships earlier this month. The two lifesaving clubs came away from the day with plenty of medals in the under 10 and under 11 categories. Mentone LSC came first in the under 11 mixed obstacle relay and under 11 mixed medley tube relay. The under 10 girls obstacle race was won by Mordialloc LSC. The voting process for Frankston councillors is set to undergo a big change. Currently, Frankston Council is divided into three wards. Three councillors are elected via preferential voting in each ward. Plans to draw up new boundaries and change to single-member wards are set to be unveiled. Panels will be appointed to recommend changes to the structures of 16 Victorian councils, Frankston included. Those panels will then make recommendations to the state government’s planning minister. A MAN has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase through Frankston last week. The motorcycle driver was spotted allegedly speeding at around 11.20pm on 21 June. Police say he was driving at speeds of up to 130kmph on Seaford Road, where the speed limit is 60kmph. The driver allegedly evaded Carrum Downs police by driving through wetlands, a pedestrian bridge, and eventually an industrial area. THE Grand Kyiv Ballet of Ukraine will perform at the Frankston Arts Centre this week. The ballet company has been unable to return home since Russia invaded Ukraine last year. Since then, the group has performed in Europe, the United States of America, China, and South America. A double bill of Forest Song and Don Quixote will be performed for the Frankston show.
