A YOUTH Environmental Forum at The Briars last week gave students from schools in the region the chance to learn more about human environmental impacts and solutions. Arranged by Frankston Council, with help from the Frankston High School eco team, the day was about educating students to become better environmental leaders to educate their own school communities. BURGLARS came away empty handed after breaking into Karingal Hub shopping centre, 1.24am, Wednesday 10 May. Detective Senior Constable Richard Brown, of Frankston CIU, said two men used a jemmy bar to force glass doors near the post office and then tried to smash their way into Prouds jewellers. Unsuccessful, they jumped the counter at the Free Choice tobacco outlet and tried to force doors into the cigarette cabinet, fleeing with a “couple of cigarette lighters”. A RAINBOW flag was raised at Frankston Council’s Davey St offices last Wednesday (17 May) in support of this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
