A VETERAN musician has been named the 2023 Kingston citizen of the year. Mordialloc Jazz Orchestra musical director Peter Foley was awarded the honour at an event last week. He has been part of the orchestra for more than three decades. The orchestra brings together musicians from across the state each week. It plays at events such as Jazz-a-oke, Carols by Kingston, and the Big Band Sunsets. The annual citizen of the year awards were held last Thursday, 18 May. VICTORIAN councillors have met to brainstorm ways to combat a surge in disruptive behaviour at public council meetings. Frankston Council is just one of many councils across Victoria who have had to deal with an increase in disruptive behaviour from the public gallery in the last year. THE design of the new planned aquatic centre in Mordialloc will be shaped by a series of polls. The polls are now open, and will close on 31 May. The topics of the polls are travel, changerooms, water play, fitness facilities, the café, and barriers to visiting. The pool is expected to be built near Jack Grut Reserve at a cost of $79.2 million. E-SCOOTERS are rolling out around Frankston as part of a four-month trial. The scooter program is run by Neuron Mobility. It has deployed 75 e-scooters across the Frankston local government area. Neuron Mobility also oversees the e-bike program running in the Frankston municipality.
