A NEW breast cancer screening suite at Frankston Hospital has been named in memory of Peta Murphy. Last December, Dunkley MP Peta Murphy died of metastatic breast cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2011, then re-diagnosed in 2019. On Saturday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan visited Frankston Hospital to unveil the “Peta Murphy Breast Imaging Suite”. Around 2400 mammograms a year are expected to take place at the suite. AN electric piling rig is being used to help build train stabling at Kananook. The Level Crossing Removal project says the electric piling rig is the first of its kind in Australia. They claim it will save 15 tonnes of CO2. The machine has completed 140 piles, each 18 metres deep and 900 millimetres in diameter. Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged aggravated burglary in Frankston on 2 February. Cars were stolen from a property in Gould Street and a police car was rammed on Seaford Road about 1.10am. Fortunately the officers were not seriously injured. A 43-year-old man from Dromana was arrested by police on Saturday morning. He has been charged with numerous offences including aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle and intentional exposure to police officer to risk by driving. ABUSE directed towards crossing supervisors needs to stop this year, Kingston mayor Jenna Davey-Burns says. Kingston Council manages 83 school crossings. It says last year it received multiple reports of cars running red lights, abuse directed towards crossing supervisors, and speeding. With school returning this week, the mayor is urging parents to exercise caution. RSPCA Victoria’s low-cost pet vaccination clinic will come to Frankston this week. The event will see RSPCA experts provide affordable check-ups, dog vaccines, and advice on pet behaviours. It will take place on Thursday 1 February at the Ballam Park Scout Hall.
