Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a two night burglary spree in Frankston and surrounding suburbs last week. A number of businesses were targeted with cigarettes, cash, lottery scratchies and jewellery stolen during the raids. The first break-in occurred about 3.20am on Tuesday 9 August at a service station on Baxter-Tooraddin Rd. Cigarettes, cash and food were stolen by the offenders before they drove to a service station on Frankston-Flinders Rd in Somerville about 40 minutes later. FRANKSTON police are working around the clock to keep residents safe by blitzing crime hotspots, arresting repeat offenders and responding to incidents in public spaces and on train-lines. Sergeant Phillip Hulley said that, by day 65 of its operation last week, the Shadow Taskforce had made 200-plus arrests – equating to an average of three per day. “So far, 4122 vehicles have been checked with many of these checks resulting in traffic stops or the execution of outstanding warrants,” he said. “A large number of the vehicles checked have also been searched for drugs and weapons.” Sergeant Hulley…

The Wallarians, a seven-piece band including five adults with disabilities, use any money from gigs to self-fund recordings and future concerts. The band met through Dandenong-based disability support network Wallara.
