POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help locate 12-month-old Beau Lachmund. It is believed Beau is currently in the care of his parents, Dean Lachmund and Brooke Billing, whose whereabouts are unknown. Police have concerns for Beau’s welfare and would like to locate him as soon as possible. It is believed the trio are travelling in a fawn 2001 Ford Forte stationwagon with Victorian registration RES705. They have been known to sleep in their vehicle around the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston areas and they have limited access to money. STARTLED bystanders dialled Triple 000 when they saw a 12-year-old boy driving a Ford Ranger utility along Cranbourne Rd, Frankston, 3.30pm, Saturday 2 July. The Seaford boy – who “could hardly see over the steering wheel” – ran three red lights putting himself and other road users in danger. The car was later found dumped in Nepean Hwy, Seaford. Detective Acting Sergeant Ryan Collins, of Frankston CIU, said the boy was remanded in custody Monday night and later charged with theft of a motor car and conduct endangering serious injury. THREE men in a black Kia Soul wagon used a handgun and a sledgehammer to rob the 7-eleven store in Cranbourne Rd, Frankston, 5.20am, Sunday 3 July. Two men entered the store with the weapons, Detective Sergeant Al Hanson, of Frankston CIU, said, while the driver waited outside. The man with the handgun approached the counter, pointed it directly at the attendant and demanded money. The second man then smashed the glass counter top with the sledgehammer and demanded cigarettes. AFTER 48 years, Manyung Gallery has moved from its original home in a faux Tuscan castle on Nepean Highway to a shop in nearby Mt Eliza Village. The Book Hub opened in late April and has seen book lovers swap fiction, true life tomes and children’s books.
